Monthly Members Meetings
Are you looking to connect with local artists and grow your creative skills? The Oshawa Art Association (OAA) invites you to our monthly art club meetings, held on the second Wednesday of each month from September to June. All meetings take place at the Arts Resource Centre (45 Queen Street, Oshawa - behind City Hall) and start at 7 pm.
Eight meetings include a live demonstration of artistic techniques, engaging discussions, and the chance to network in a welcoming, supportive arts community. Two meetings are social events.
Non-members are welcome to attend at no charge and meet the members. A great way to see if this art group is for you.

Artist Message: During the demo, I will show how to paint in acrylics like they're OILS!
ARTIST BIO:
Olivia Morin is a portrait artist based in Oshawa, Ontario, working primarily in both acrylics and oils. Her work explores expressive portraiture, using bold colour, energetic brushwork, and a painterly approach to capture the character and emotion of her subjects. Alongside her studio practice, Olivia is also an art educator and creates murals, commissions, and live paintings throughout the Durham Region.

During the demo, Gary will share the process of creating a Scratchboard artwork from start to finish. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experience Scratchboard for themselves, with materials and tools available to pass around and explore.
GARY FAULKNER - ARTIST BIO:
My classical training started with music then fifteen years ago I took up painting. I am a realist painter and most of my oil paintings have been trompe l'oeil (deceive the eye) style.
Lately I have been creating Scratch art pieces which allows the viewer to concentrate on the subject, composition, and simplicity without colour. I am a member of OAA, president of the Art Guild of Scarborough, Beach Guild of Fine Art and International Association of Scratchboard Artists.
