Monthly Artist Demos
Looking to connect with local artists and grow your creative skills? The Oshawa Art Association (OAA) invites you to our monthly art club meetings, held on the second Wednesday of each month from September to June. All meetings take place at the Arts Resource Centre (45 Queen Street, Oshawa - behind City Hall) and start at 7 pm.
Eight meetings include a live demonstration of artistic techniques, engaging discussions, and the chance to network in a welcoming, supportive arts community. Two meetings are social events.
Non-members are welcome to attend at no charge and meet the members. A great way to see if this art group is for you.

Chrissie Wysotski
The presentation will include a brief introduction of her work and the variety of mediums and techniques used to create her current style. She will demonstrate how she uses a combination of powdered and traditional drawing media to start a work of art by “painting with powder” and building up to a beautiful, detailed finish.

Marissa Sweet
Marissa worked in acrylics and shared her approach to plein air painting. She brought her plein air kit to show the group and how she sets up her gear to paint. Although the painting was created inside, it will be inspired by reference photos taken during her travels through the beautiful Algonquin Highlands. She demonstrated how she interprets an outdoor scene on canvas, with a focus on light, colour harmony, and capturing the mood of the landscape. (November 12, 2025) Photo by Shannon Lebert
